Sandeep Batra, M.D.

Dr. Batra is the Medical Director of the leukemia program at Riley Hospital, and the institutional Principal Investigator for Children’s Oncology Group https://www.childrensoncologygroup.org/ and the Therapeutic Advances in Childhood Leukemia and Lymphoma consortium (TACL) https://tacl.chla.usc.edu/tacl/#!/ .  He is the co-Chair of the Adolescent and Young adults (AYA) working group at the Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium https://bigtencrc.org/

His current research is focused on identifying novel targets in relapsed, drug-refractory childhood acute lymphoblastic (ALL) and myelogenous leukemia (AML), through precision genomics and investigating mechanisms of asparaginase resistance in leukemia cancer cells.  He is the institutional principal investigator for Phase-I/II clinical trials in refractory and recurrent leukemias at Riley Hospital, and a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Pediatric ALL panel. https://www.nccn.org/guidelines/guidelines-detail?category=1&id=1496
