Dr. Wenjun Zhang is a Research Assistant Professor in the Transplant division, Pulmonary Basic Research Group section, at Indiana University School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Beijing Medical University (Beijing University School of Medicine). Dr. Zhang’s specific expertise and research interest are in the key areas of congestive heart failure, and the pathogenesis of critical congenital heart defects (CCHDs). Currently, his research focuses on the core and tissue-specific signaling pathway that is responsible for the fibrotic reaction under the tissue injury condition. Specifically, the pathogenesis of heart, lung, and liver fibrotic disease under influences of Stat3 and TGFß superfamily.
