Jeremy L. Herrmann, MD

Dr. Jeremy L. Herrmann is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Indiana University. He specializes in pediatric and adult congenital cardiac surgery including heart transplantation. His hospital affiliations include Indiana University Health Riley Hospital for Children and Methodist Hospital as well as Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Dr. Herrmann is a native of Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree from Wabash College then earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2006. He completed his general surgery residency at Indiana University in 2013. During that period, he completed an NIH-sponsored Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (F32) Fellowship focusing on the paracrine effects of mesenchymal stem cells and their potential cardioprotective effects against ischemia/reperfusion injury in the heart. Following residency, he completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in 2015 and his congenital cardiac surgery fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2016.
