Bio
John N. Eble, M.D., M.B.A., F.R.C.P.A., F.R.C.Path.
Dr. Eble received his undergraduate, medical and business degrees, as well as his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology from Indiana University. He is presently the Nordschow Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine and Chief Pathologist of Indiana University Health. Dr. Eble has served as treasurer and president of the International Society of Urological Pathology. Among other honors, he is the 34th recipient of the F.K. Mostofi Award of the U.S.C.A.P., an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and a fellow by publication of the Royal College of Pathologists. Dr. Eble edited the International Journal of Urologic Pathology from 1997 to 2000 and Modern Pathology from 2000 to 2020. Dr. Eble was the lead editor for the 2004 World Health Organization Classification of Tumours: Pathology and Genetics of Tumours of the Urinary System and Male Genital Organs and is the lead author of the series five Armed Forces Institute of Pathology atlas: Tumors of the Kidney, Bladder, and Related Urinary Structures published in 2021. He has edited three other textbooks on urological surgical pathology and has authored 45 book chapters and 275 articles, almost all on topics in urological surgical pathology.
