Ed Greenfield’s path through academia has brought him steadily north with each new degree and appointment.
Greenfield, PhD, was educated in Florida and North Carolina, earning his undergraduate degree in biology from New College of Florida and master’s and doctoral degrees in marine biology and biomineralization, respectively, from the University of the North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He completed further post-doctoral studies at Washington University in St. Louis before joining the faculty at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland in the 1990s, where he remained before moving to Indianapolis in 2019 to take a position in Indiana University School of Medicine.
Greenfield’s research focuses on finding a cure of bone cancers. Undergraduates, residents and medical students routinely work in his lab, assisting in discoveries.
Greenfield said he most enjoys watching these young minds grow during their times of study and celebrating their accomplishments.
