With five major research centers, the Department of Pediatrics at IU School of Medicine offers a mature and vital pediatric research program.
The Division Chief for Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, Laura Haneline, MD, and Wade Clapp, MD, Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics and a neonatologist, both have active NIH-funded research lab at the Wells Center.
The IU School of Medicine’s Division of Neonatology participates in the National Institute of Child and Human Development Neonatal Research Network. This multi-center network of level III NICUs allows for large-scale clinical research in the field of neonatology, advancing the care of premature and ill newborns across the country.
