Pediatric Critical Care
The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at IU School of Medicine, led by Mara Nitu, MD, is an integral part of Indiana’s only quaternary care pediatric hospital, Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. The highly trained sub-specialists intensivists in this pediatrics specialty team are prepared to intervene at the most critical moment of a family’s life journey, when their child’s life hangs in the balance. Patients from across the state of Indiana are transported here for interventions, procedures and treatment that other hospitals are not equipped to perform. The Children’s Hospital Association names Riley Hospital as having one of the highest acuity patient mixes in the United States.
