Through mentorship and shared knowledge, the Student Interest Group helps Otolaryngology students at IU School of Medicine prepare for their careers.

Student Interest Group

Medical students don’t journey through the Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery program alone. The department’s Student Interest Group helps support and advise students interested in the field of otolaryngology. Through mentorship and shared knowledge, the group helps students prepare for a career in ear, nose and throat medicine and surgery. As a function of the group, faculty and upper classmen share advice and experiences to future classes to help them prepare for matching into Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery residency programs. Students entering other specialty areas of medicine are welcome to attend meetings as well, since guest speakers provide valuable insight and introduce attendees to the diversity within the otolaryngology field of medicine.
