Wellness Resources for Faculty

Providing easy access to resources that help faculty take care of their own wellness is a critical component to serving the community as a world-class school of medicine. That's why Indiana University and IU School of Medicine provide the following wellness resources to faculty.

Healthy IU

Healthy IU provides educational and environmental resources to foster individual well-being and support a culture of wellness. Resources address the Eight Dimensions of Wellness: financial, physical, spiritual, environmental, emotional, intellectual, occupational and social.

IU EAP (SupportLinc)

SupportLinc Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help you address life's challenges through free, 24/7 access to professional counseling, resources and referrals. Licensed advocates provide short-term assistance for issues like grief and loss, work-related pressures and depression.

Weight Watchers (WW)

Reach your weight-loss and wellness goals with the help of a free membership to Weight Watchers (WW). WW provides science-based tools through nutrition education, social support and healthy lifestyle habits like physical activity and stress management.

Ombuds Office

Discuss concerns, complaints and disputes with an impartial third party in a safe environment at the IU School of Medicine Ombuds Office. Confidentially discuss sensitive issues, find guidance on how to address a conflict, identify policies that apply to a specific situation and more.

Health and Wellness Advisory Council

The IU Health/IU School of Medicine Health and Wellness Advisory Council (HWAC) makes recommendations to leaders that promote personal, team and system-wide well-being. Members are invited by the HWAC chair and departmental nominations.

Professional Well-being Academic Consortium

Connect and collaborate with a scholarly community of peers, consult well-being benchmarks, view results of a validated survey of burnout and professional fulfillment in physicians and more through the national Healthcare Professional Well-being Academic Consortium (PWAC).

VITAL WorkLife

VITAL WorkLife offers services such as peer coaching, confidential counseling, concierge services, financial and legal resources and more. Services are available free of charge to IU Health faculty physicians and advanced practice providers, as well as their families.

The IU Health Employee Assistance Program is designed to help you and your family stay healthy. It offers a confidential counseling service that focuses on finding resolutions to problems that may affect your work and your life.
