Early Bird Reception and Screening of ``Hoosiers``

Thursday, May 17, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Already in town on Thursday? Grab a bite to eat at one of the many local restaurants then head over to the Keystone Art Cinema for a reception and screening of the movie “Hoosiers”. Prior to a private movie screening, join fellow reunion-goers for a cocktail during a reception in the cinema’s Indie Lounge. Complimentary movie screening. Cash bar.

Fast Friday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Friday, May 18, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Bus departs from Sheraton at Keystone Crossing

Join us for a VIP experience during Fast Friday at the Indianapolis 500. Enjoy lunch in a private hospitality room adjacent to Gasoline Alley where you’ll get an up-close view of all the action in the Garage Area. From there wander to the grandstand to take in the last day of practice prior to qualifications. Tickets include lunch in the hospitality room, garage passes, and general admission seating.

Round-trip shuttle provided from Sheraton to IMS. Space is limited. Moderate to heavy walking required.

Timeline:
8:45 AM   – Pick up your credentials at the IUSM “Fast Friday” table near the bus stop
9:00 AM – Board bus at Sheraton Hotel Indianapolis at Keystone Crossing – Boarding takes place on the north side of the hotel near the parking garage

10:00 AM – Estimated arrival at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Buses will pull into the Hulman Parking Lot on Georgetown Road and guests will enter the track through Gate 7 (directly across the street)

10:00 AM – Pavilion Room #1, beverages and snacks available (Pagoda Plaza on the south side)
10:00 AM – Garage passes and waivers are available for pickup in Room #1 of Pavilion
11:00 AM – Lunch buffet opens in Room #1 of Pavilion
12:00 PM – Verizon IndyCar Series Practice begins
1:30 PM   – Lunch buffet closes
2:00 PM – Pavilion Room #1 closes
2:00 PM   – Return to the Hulman Parking Lot through Gate 7 to begin bus loading
2:30 PM   – Buses depart for Sheraton Hotel Indianapolis at Keystone Crossing

Let the IU School of Medicine Alumni Association take you back to a time when Dick Clark ushered rock ‘n roll into your home and taught you the steps to the latest dance craze. Whether you fancied Elvis, The Jackson 5, or ABBA (your secret’s safe), American Bandstand entertained and informed. On Friday, May 19 nationally known impersonator John Di Domenico comes back to Indianapolis by way of Las Vegas to serve as host “Dick Clark” for the third annual Hoosier Bandstand.

Hoosier Bandstand includes a buffet and cash bar.

Join us for the 71st annual Strawberry Shortcake Luncheon as we honor this year’s recipients of the Distinguished Medical Alumni Award, George Sorrells, Jr. Community Physician Award, Early Career Achievement Award, and the Glenn W. Irwin Jr. Distinguished Faculty Award. This time honored tradition has been a highlight of the Medical Alumni Weekend since IU Physicians were first served the cream and crimson treat in 1947.
