The Medical Sciences Program in Bloomington is unique among the IU School of Medicine campuses in that it educates medical students seeking an MD as well as graduate and undergraduate students. Bloomington offers a Big 10 learning environment on an iconic campus.

An expanded residency program in Gary will accommodate more than 100 new graduate medical education positions.

IU School of Medicine-South Bend is located on the campus of Notre Dame, offering a rich campus life in a traditionally collegiate community. Students here gain clinical care experience at the Navari Student Outreach Clinic, and external funding for faculty research exceeds $2 million per year.

Known for its rural medical education program, IU School of Medicine-Terre Haute meets the increased need for physicians to serve rural communities throughout the state of Indiana and beyond. This unique four-year medical school program emphasizes primary care and other specialties of need in rural communities.

Located on the campus of Purdue University, the West Lafayette campus offers a Big Ten campus atmosphere and opportunities to supplement the MD curriculum with research experience in the collaborative labs and research centers here. Indiana University School of Medicine—Northwest—Gary

The Gary campus of IU School of Medicine is located on the IU Northwest campus in a highly populated urban region, south of Lake Michigan and just 25 miles from downtown Chicago. Students at this campus benefit from the IU School of Medicine’s high-quality statewide MD curriculum with an added benefit of studying in an urban location near Chicago. A wide variety of choices for third- and fourth-year clerkships provide access to a diverse patient population and a close relationship with attending physicians for challenging, real-world clinical experiences.

All of the buildings at IU School of Medicine-Northwest-Gary are easily accessible and within walking distance of each other. Plus, with only 32 students per class, medical students at the Gary campus have many opportunities to experience medical education in a personalized setting.

Dana is a star student at the Gary campus and has been at IU School of Medicine-Northwest-Gary all four years of her medical education. She is a native of Gary and intends to come back to the area to practice medicine after residency. She plans to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Galante is a dedicated supporter of the IU School of Medicine’s Gary campus. Not only is she a volunteer faculty member, she is also a donor and a member of the campus Advisory Board. She and her husband are both graduates of the IU School of Medicine.
