To apply for a travel bursary, you must...

• be an IABR member in good standing (student or regular membership): if you would like to become a member, or have not yet renewed your membership for 2024, please visit the IABR website: http://www.iabr.at/become-a-member/ (if you require an invoice, please contact membership@iabr.at).
• be an early-career researcher: undergraduate or postgraduate student, PhD student, or post-doctoral fellow within six years of being awarded a PhD or staff members within the first six years of your career.
• have submitted an abstract to give a talk at the Breath Summit. The oral presentation need not be confirmed at the time of applying for the bursary.
• have registered for the conference: if your registration for the conference relies on a successful bursary application, please indicate this in your application.

To apply, please email Michael D. Davis, RRT, PhD (mdd1@iu.edu) expressing your interest and detailing your eligibility status per the requirements listed above. The deadline is May 3, 2024.

Breath Summit rates are detailed below and based on attendee status. "Early bird" rates apply until March 31, 2024. After that, standard "late owl" rates will apply until registration closes on May 20, 2024. Visit the registration portal.

Payments can be made via purchase order, wire transfer/ACH, or credit/debit card. Registration fees will be refunded only if the entire event is canceled. Please contact Shari Parker at shupchur@iu.edu with any questions about registration.

Attendees can check in to the Breath Summit on Sunday, June 2 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., as well as Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The registration location in the Crowne Plaza Downtown Union Station will be in the foyer outside of the Illinois Street Ballroom on the second floor of the hotel.

Posters should be hung at the beginning of the day and can be visited throughout the day during breaks. Poster presenters should attend their poster during their assigned poster session from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on June 3, June 4 or June 5.

Attendees staying at the Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown Union Station will receive a voucher for breakfast at 123 West located on the first floor of the hotel. Lunch will be provided to Breath Summit guests Monday through Wednesday during the conference. Dinner will be provided to attendees on Monday night. There will be a reception with light hors d’oeuvres on Sunday night and a larger reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres on Tuesday.

Important Hotel Information:
• Crowne Plaza Union Station Hotel is housed within an active Train Station located on the south side of the Hotel. Any vibration or rumbling that you feel during your stay is being caused by real trains and part of the experience of being in our historic property.
• Upon Check-In your form of payment will be authorized for the full room and tax amount for your stay + $50 for incidentals. If there are incidentals added to your account during your stay, the card is subject to additional charges.
• If you are an IHG Rewards Member please inform our front desk agents when you check-in and thank you for being a member!
• If you need to cancel your reservation(s), please call, email or text the hotel with your name, confirmation # and a note that you need to cancel your room. Cancellation Policy: the guest must cancel their reservation 72 hours (3 days) prior to arrival to avoid a cancellation fee of one night’s room and tax.

Day of Arrival:
• Standard check-in is at 3:00 p.m. If an early arrival time is needed, the hotel will hold your luggage until the guaranteed check-in time of 3:00 p.m. or until availability. Early arrivals cannot be guaranteed as this is based on hotel availability and departure times of our guest departing. 
• Please allow extra time for check-in, valet service, and elevator waits as we expect to have a high volume of arrivals.

Parking Information: 
• Valet Parking Rate is $50 per night with In/Out privileges- please allow additional wait times.
• Valet Parking after 3:00 p.m. on the day of your departure is an additional $38 charge.
• Valet Parking has a limited number of parking spaces and is on a first come first serve basis.
• Self-parking is not available at the hotel.
