Bio

Why I chose family medicine: I chose family medicine for its variety in both medicine and patient population. I have interests in all fields of medicine and in all patient populations, so family medicine was the perfect specialty for me. I also really enjoy teaching and found that family medicine will allow me opportunities to daily help my patients by teaching them about their health issues and giving them the tools they need to gain control of their health.

Why I chose the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose this residency program because it is a well-rounded program that provides strong training in all aspects of family medicine such as OB, hospital medicine and outpatient medicine. It felt like the best place for me to receive a full spectrum family medicine training. I also had the opportunity to do a rotation with the family medicine program during my fourth year and realized that this program felt like home. Everyone was very kind, welcoming and really valued family.

Personal interests and hobbies:
Growing up in the northwest we did a ton of camping and hiking, so I love anything outdoor activity related. I played softball growing up with my little sister and continue to enjoy playing sports such as golf, pickleball and volleyball. My husband and I have two pups that we love taking on adventures whenever we get the chance. Recently, I have really been enjoying gardening too!
