Bio

Why I chose family medicine: I chose family medicine primarily because of the career flexibility and because of the broad training experience it offers. While I have a preference towards inpatient medicine, being able to provide continuity of care both in and out of the hospital is extremely rewarding for me. Further, being a family medicine physician offers unique opportunities to advocate for strong public health through meaningful health policy at a national, state and community level.

Why I chose the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose this residency program because of its strong, independent inpatient hospital service as well as specialty tracks in colon health and sports medicine. In addition to expansive training opportunities the people of Indianapolis were extremely welcoming and friendly and I felt comfortable here as soon as my plane landed for my interview. Being far from home gives me the opportunity to learn medicine through a different lens and treat and be involved in communities that are very different than my own.

Personal interests and hobbies:
Outside of medicine, I enjoy flying my hot air balloon and spending time outdoors. I'm an avid backpacker/hiker, fly fisher and hunter.
