Bio

Why I chose family medicine: I chose family medicine because of the opportunity to create a lifelong relationship with patients and to provide care that encompasses all of medicine. My interest in family medicine started when I was volunteering in my home city of Fort Wayne, Indiana at a local free clinic. When I went to Saba University School of Medicine, my passion for family medicine grew. I was able to continue volunteering here in Indianapolis and this only solidified my love of family medicine. I hope to be able to utilize the skills I learn in residency to continue helping in underserved populations.

Why I chose the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Program: I chose this program because of the diversity of patients, the caliber of teaching and the camaraderie of the residents. Having spent time volunteering in Indianapolis and seeing the quality of attendings I’ll work with showed me that this program was the best opportunity to further my career. Having the chance to work in a large metropolitan city also provides the opportunity to work with patients from diverse backgrounds and with medical issues not seen in more rural areas. We also get the chance to work with specialists that are there to teach us as much as possible.

Personal interests and hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my wife and our dog, reading, traveling, cooking and the outdoors.
