Sheela grew up in Champaign, IL and went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she studied genetics and global health. She completed a one year service term with the National Health Corps, serving in Philadelphia, before completing her medical studies at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She is interested in primary and preventative care, but is undecided about what she plans to do after residency. In her free time, she enjoys running, baking, reading, and exploring Indianapolis.
