Kanwarjeet Brar, MD is from Punjab, India, and obtained his medical degree from Russian State Medical University and attended psychiatry residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center at Permian Basin.
Why Fellowship at IU?
IU School of Medicine Child and adolescent psychiatry program was my first interview of the season. I was impressed with the camaraderie and everyone in the program felt like a part of the family. The program provides the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population in different specialty clinics. Both faculty and staff are very approachable and supportive. The didactic schedule covers all the topics relevant to child and adolescent development, psychosocial and biological contributors, and pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic treatments. Indianapolis offers many unique things to do and see, like recreational trials, Indy 500 car race, to name a few.
My academic interests include neurodevelopmental disorders.
Outside of work:
Outside of work, I like watching cricket and movies, hiking, spending time with my family.
