Bio

Halimah Oral, MD, is an assistant professor of clinical psychiatry with an interest in personality, trauma, psychosis, neural networks, schema therapy. She completed her residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and chose to stay in Indianapolis because it is the epicenter for psychiatry in the state and the diverse collection of patients and pathologies.

The unit at Eskenazi especially attracted her as a high acuity unit that provides excellent care in a beautiful environment to an often underprivileged and vulnerable patient population. She knew she
would receive a strong biological psychiatry education here, and have the opportunity to do neuroimaging research. She also was attracted by the array of therapies offered, from schema therapy for BPD to metacognitive therapy for schizophrenia.
