Why I chose Family Medicine: Family medicine is the one specialty that offers versatility to choose a career path that provides job satisfaction and opportunities to change direction at any time. At the same time, I am excited to have chosen a profession that allows cradle-to-grave continuity of care, forming trusting relationships with patients and their growing families.
Why I chose the IU School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial: I wanted to train in an unopposed program in a rural setting where I could be a part of the community. I have found just that. Part of the mission at Memorial Hospital is "being for others" which lined up with my personal values, and one of my favorite quotes, "To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honors".
Personal interests and hobbies: I enjoy running marathons and strength training! I have run in the Boston Marathon, Chicago Marathon, and plan to continue to participate in races, with an ultimate goal of becoming a Six Star Finisher in the Abbott World Marathon Majors. I am invigorated by outdoor exploration and scenic hiking.
