Why I chose Family Medicine: I chose family medicine because I wanted my career to allow me to be an advocate for health literacy and primary care prevention. I love that family practice allows for continuity of care and the privilege to be able to be to make an impact in a patient’s health. Family medicine also allows me to combine my passion for subspecialties like women’s health and pediatrics.

Why I chose the IU School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial: The people and the community at Memorial Hospital made my final choice a simple one. All residency programs train you to be a family physician, but it is rare to find a place you feel comfortable and where the faculty are truly understanding and create a supportive environment. It is exciting to be a part of a new program and be influential in the development. The program combines training in a community hospital with the benefits of a strong Indiana University School of Medicine affiliation.

Personal interest and hobbies: I never turn down the opportunity to try new foods and restaurants. I also enjoy cooking, exploring new places and kickboxing!
