Carley Neihaus, MD is from Louisville, Kentucky and obtained her medical degree from University of Kentucky School of Medicine. She will graduate from the IU Triple Board program in 2023.
Why Triple Board at IU?
First and foremost the people! I instantly felt at home when I interviewed at IU as the residents and faculty that I met were funny, nice, and inviting! I have made so many lifelong friends since starting residency and can’t imagine completing my training anywhere else!
I have a specific interest in working with patients with developmental delays, most specifically autism. I plan on splitting my time after graduation doing general pediatrics, diagnostic clinics, and child psychiatry with a focus on the Autism Spectrum Disorder patient population. I’ve really enjoyed the developmental pediatrics services that Riley has to offer both from a medicine and psychiatric perspective! Riley Hospital offers amazing learning opportunities and unique experiences within developmental pediatrics from specialty outpatient clinics to developmental focused multidisciplinary inpatient teams.
Outside of work:
I have been a horse back rider since I was 7 years old. I also enjoy gardening every summer and frequently travel to the family owned nurseries in Indy to find unique flowers for my garden! I also love hanging out with my friends from residency! We have done so many fun activities including exploring Newfields, enjoying an afternoon at TopGolf, and eating at so many amazing restaurants on Massachusetts Ave!
