Message from the Directors

Welcome to the Medical Neuroscience Graduate Program at Indiana University School of Medicine. We stand apart from other programs for several key reasons. IU School of Medicine is a top-tier school of medicine that focuses both on academic and research excellence for its PhD and MD/PhD students and provides access to state-of-the-art technologies that help drive cutting-edge research.

The MedNeuro education program is housed in the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute that includes more than 75 faculty neuroscientists. Stark Neurosciences Research Institute has a truly translational mission and fosters cross-collaboration between preclinical and clinical neuroscientists over a variety of disciplines—from cell culture to animal models to neuroimaging. The institute supports a broad scope of neuroscience research; specialty areas include addiction, neural injury and repair, neurodegeneration, neuropsychiatric disorders, and pain.

Regardless of your primary research interests, we strive to provide a pivotal foundational neuroscience knowledge, while allowing you to tailor your academic program to suit your personal research goals. The MedNeuro program encourages an interactive and engaged student environment and currently has more than 40 graduate students (and counting). Alumni from our program have continued on to successful careers in research, industry and teaching throughout the nation.

We look forward to hearing from you!
