Physicians in the IU School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology offer regular and consultative care at several IU Health Hospitals around Indianapolis, including IU Health Methodist Hospital and IU Health University Hospital, as well as at Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital.

Physicians in the IU School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology offer regular and consultative care at several IU Health Hospitals around Indianapolis, including IU Health Methodist Hospital and IU Health University Hospital, as well as at Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital. Faculty physicians also serve as consultants to physicians throughout Indiana.

Learners at all levels are able to engage in clinical practice at these nationally ranked teaching hospitals. These hospitals record several million inpatient and outpatient visits each year -- an enormous patient base that provides a broad range of clinical educational opportunities. Students gain experience in cutting edge diagnostics, treatments and overall patient care through clerkships and electives. A site coordinator that assists with implementation of the clinical activities is available at all sites.

Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital

Eskenazi Hospital is a 315-bed teaching facility that provides a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services, with an emphasis on underserved populations of Marion County, Indiana. There is a large population of general obstetrics and gynecology patients that are considered high-risk patients based on their prior access to care and underserved status; and a multidisciplinary transgender clinic where family medicine physicians, mental health professionals, plastic surgeons, OB-GYNs and others come together to provide care for patients.

Riley Hospital for Children

Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health is one of the nation's leading children's hospitals. Physicians at Riley provide comprehensive care, for routine and complex cases, in every field of pediatric medicine. The Maternity Tower at Riley provides labor and delivery care and houses a 45-bed Level III NICU that bolsters a 60-bed Level IV NICU in the hospital's Simon Family Tower. Maternal-fetal medicine specialists from the OBGYN department serve on the Riley care team to assist with high-risk deliveries or vulnerable babies.
