FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Chancellor Nasser H. Paydar announced today that the Indiana Members Credit Union has given a gift of $150,000 in support of the IUPUI Chancellor’s Circle. This is the largest gift to the IUPUI Chancellor’s Circle in the 25-year history of the fund.

“Unrestricted gifts such as this are particularly valuable in that they allow campus leadership to respond quickly to a wide variety of opportunities and needs,” Paydar said. “I am especially pleased about this gift because the IMCU is such an important and longstanding part of the IUPUI community.”

The Chancellor’s Circle provides critical, unrestricted support directed to important areas of immediate need. Among those are:

  • Supporting student success
  • Enhancing community partnerships
  • Capitalizing on unexpected opportunities
  • Building the foundation for new initiatives

“Indiana Members Credit Union and IUPUI are inextricably linked. We were founded on IUPUI’s campus in 1956, and our partnership has grown ever since. It’s a relationship we take great pride in,” said Ron Collier, president and chief executive officer of Indiana Members Credit Union. “As IMCU celebrates our 60th anniversary, we’re looking back at all we’ve accomplished and looking forward to the future, a future in which our relationship with Chancellor Paydar and IUPUI will continue to flourish.”

Credit union officials also point to the goals Paydar set for the IUPUI campus as contributing to their decision to make this history-making gift to the Chancellor’s Circle. Among Paydar’s many goals are developing a more welcoming and inclusive campus and a campus beautification initiative.
