Class of 1989 Walter J. Daly Scholarship Fund
As the IU School of Medicine MD Class of 1989 approaches its 30-year reunion on May 16-18, 2019, a group of leaders has come together to create a new class gift. The Class of 1989 Walter J. Daly Scholarship will benefit medical students by making their education more affordable, creating more opportunity for excellent care in Indiana and beyond.
Many took student loans as a part of education, but the amount has increased enormously since 1989. The average student debt at the end of medical school is over $214,000. With this burden weighing down new physicians, medical students face delaying their lives and paying this debt for 20 years or longer.
Together, it’s possible to make a difference in these students’ lives. The Class of 1989 Walter J. Daly Scholarship will live in perpetuity and support medical students for years to come. Gifts made by classmates will be invested and the income from the endowment will be awarded to worthy students. The goal is to raise $100,000 in gifts and pledges over up to five years. Please consider making a contribution today to help shape the future of medicine.
To support the Class of 1989 Walter J. Daly Scholarship with an online gift, please write “IU School of Medicine Class of 1989 Walter J. Daly Scholarship (P370014604)” into the write-in gift area. No need to select any dropdown options.
