Brock D. McMillen

Brock D. McMillen, MD

Assistant Professor of Clinical Family Medicine

Dr. Brock McMillen is from Carmel, Indiana. He earned his undergraduate degree from Butler University and completed his MD at Ross University School of Medicine. Following the completion of his university coursework, he completed his Family Medicine Residency at Indiana University-Methodist Family Medicine Residency, where he eventually became faculty. He received additional training, including surgical obstetrics skills, furthered his education with a fellowship for faculty development at the University of North Carolina, and continues to enjoy pursuing learning opportunities whenever possible.

Dr. McMillen chose Family Medicine because it represents the ideal forum for total patient care. Patients live in families and communities, and for Dr. McMillen, this means that illness doesn’t simply affect the single patient. As Dr. McMillen works with patients and their families, he is building relationships and trust that assist patients and caregivers in treating illness and disease beyond the hospital or clinical setting. He is invested in preparing them for the next steps, for the future of care that may be required, and ultimately, he wants patient care to matter to the whole family, just as the patient matters to the whole family and community. These tools are second to none in the primary care setting, and Dr. McMillen is interested in knowing exactly how to apply them to provide the best total overall care he can.

His clinical interests include inpatient clinical medicine, surgical obstetrics, underserved medicine, and teaching. Dr. Brock McMillen is dedicated to the patients he serves and to the residents for whom he serves as teaching faculty and faculty mentor. He and his wife, Sabrina, with their two children, Madelyn and Jackson, enjoy traveling and spending time together whenever possible. Dr. McMillen enjoys being laid-back, spending time on his terms, and that means fishing, hunting, Butler basketball, and spending time with his family top his list for his personal interests and hobbies.

Dr. Brock McMillen currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Family Medicine for the Indiana University School of Medicine and as an Associate Program Director for the Indiana University-Methodist Family Medicine Residency.
