Bio

Dr. Himanshu Shah received his Bachelor’s Degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan and M.D. Degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency followed by a Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine.
 
Dr. Shah has published over 45 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and multimedia publications. He has served as an investigator on 17 grant-funded clinical trials of medical devices. He is active in a number of national professional medical societies including chairing the CME and SAMs Committee for the American College of Radiology. He was inducted as a fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology and the American College of Radiology. He is a manuscript reviewer for several journals and has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology and the American Journal of Roentgenology. 
 
Dr. Shah is an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology and Imaging Sciences in the Division of Interventional Radiology at Indiana University School of Medicine. He is currently the President of Indiana University Health Physicians and the Executive Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs for Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Shah joined the faculty at IU School of Medicine following completion of his fellowship in 1996. He served as Director of the Interventional Radiology Fellowship Program from 1999-2000 and as Director of the Department of Radiology at Eskenazi Health (formerly Wishard Health Services) from 2000-2016. He recently served as the Chair of the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences from 2015-2021. Dr. Shah is clinically active and practices all areas of vascular and interventional radiology. He has a specific clinical research interest in hemodialysis access interventions.
