John D. Buckley

John D. Buckley, MD, MPH

Professor of Medicine


A native of Michigan and graduate of Wayne State University, Dr. Buckley completed his Internal Medicine residency, Pulmonary / Critical Care Medicine fellowship, and Masters in Public Health at Indiana University.   He was a Senior Staff Physician at the Henry Ford Health System from 1997-2008 where he was the program director for the Pulmonary /CCM fellowship and led a faculty development program designed to enhance teaching effectiveness.   He returned to Indiana University as the Vice Chair for Quality and Safety and resumed his teaching activities as Pulm/CCM fellowship PD here before assuming his current position as Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Medicine.  He is very involved with several professional societies and he continues his clinical activities primarily at Eskenazi Hospital.
