Bio
Dr. Kua received his MD from Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine in Halifax, Canada. He completed his Pediatric Residency at University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. He is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics that provides care to critically ill infants in the NICU. He is also a basic scientist at the Pediatric Diabetes Research Group. His research focuses on 1) understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying maternal-neonatal diabetes transmission and to 2) identify a novel therapeutic target that prevents the risk of transmitting diabetes to offspring.
