Mary G. Austrom, PhD

Associate Dean for Diversity Affairs

Bio

My teaching, clinical and research interests focus on aging and Alzheimer disease. I am interested in helping individuals who care for persons with AD provide more effective care. I have developed non-pharmacological interventions for families that have been effective in reducing caregiver stress and improving patient care. I am a teacher at heart and enjoy teaching our medical students, residents and fellows about aging and AD. I also give talks in the community about AD and providing compassionate treatment and care to the elderly.
