Paul Musey, MD
Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine
Dr. Musey received his medical degree in 2009 from Emory School of Medicine, and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency from Carolinas Medical Center in 2012. Paul was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and is the second youngest of 4 brothers. His wife Andrea is from the DC area. He loves to eat, thus they enjoy trying different restaurants. He likes to cook, He thinks if he wasn’t in medicine he’d probably be a chef or at least a short order cook. Because he loves to eat and cook, Paul “has” to enjoy running and working out. He's a lifelong Atlanta Braves and Falcons.
I am interested in the evaluation of low risk chest pain in the Emergency Department. This includes disparities in care as well as the interrelationship with anxiety syndromes which are often overlooked. My current project is focused on using rapid risk stratification to identify patients with low risk chest pain associated with anxiety in order to characterize this patient population and develop care processes to decrease recidivism.
