Bio

Dr. Chris Mastropietro joined Riley’s Pediatric Critical Care in 2013 and currently serves as Medical Director for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).

Dr. Mastropietro is passionate about advancing pediatric critical care. In addition to leading the CVICU at Riley, he is also a prominent national expert on pediatric critical care.  He served on several committees for the Society of Critical Care Medicine and he was the co-editor of the 2017 edition of Current Concepts in Pediatric Critical Care. He has also published a range or articles, reports and editorials and has made key contributions to medical textbooks.

In addition to his role as CVICU medical director at Riley, Dr. Chris Mastropietro also assumed the role as Physician Supervisor for the Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner Group, and as this group continued to grow, he developed the Annual Nurse Practitioner Lecture Day to help ensure valuable continuing educational needs are met.

In his spare time, Dr. Mastropietro is an avid runner, and loves to listen to music.
