Rebecca S. Aguirre, MD, PhD

CL 380
Indianapolis, IN

Dr. Aguirre obtained her MD and PhD from Baylor College of Medicine and completed her combined Medicine/Pediatrics residency at Indiana University. As a physician specializing in both Pediatric and Adult Endocrinology, she is interested in diseases extending across the lifespan or that are uncommon in the opposite age group, particularly type 1 diabetes in adults and type 2 diabetes in pediatrics. She is also drawn to fields where one can develop long term relationships with patients and finds that Endocrinology is well-suited for this. She has an interested in CFRD, as it poses many challenges in management and requires a therapeutic alliance with the patient that is particularly gratifying.  Her research plans are still developing, but she anticipates that she will study a diabetes-related question.
