Bio
Dr. McFerron is the Director of the Fellowship Training Program for the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He is actively involved in medical education and has served previously as Assistant Clerkship Director and Sub-Internship Director for the Department of Pediatrics prior to assuming the role of Fellowship Director. In addition to medical education, Dr. McFerron has clinical interest in pancreatic diseases. He is actively involved in clinical research involving acute, recurrent and chronic pancreatitis, collaborating with colleagues nationally within the INSPPIRE consortium. He lectures frequently on pediatric gastroenterology topics as well as medical education. He was recently awarded the Indiana University School of Medicine Trustees Teaching Award for his strong commitment to medical education.
