Izlin Z. Lien, MD

Dr. Lien is an attending physician at the Methodist Hospital Newborn ICU and the Riley Newborn ICU. her primary interest is in the clinical care of sick newborns, and in the education of medical students, residents and fellows, both at the bedside and in the classroom. Dr. Lien is the medical director of the IU Health Methodist NICU, which delivers all the high risk infants for the MFM OB group and is the team lead for the neonatology Prenatal Consult Team. She is involved multiple QI projects and is the PI for the Placental Transfusion project, which has state wide collaboration. She had studied the effects of intrauterine exposure to hyperglycemia on endothelial progenitor cells in infants of diabetic mothers when compared to controls.
