Bio

Mary E. Dankoski, PhD is Executive Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Professional Development and Lester D. Bibler Professor of Family Medicine. Dr. Dankoski’s scholarly interests include the advancement of women and underrepresented faculty, the study of faculty vitality, how policies shape faculty life, and organizational and faculty development in academic medicine. From 2007-2012 she directed programs for the advancement of women, which led to IU School of Medicine receiving the Organizational Leadership Award from the Association of American Medical Colleges Group on Women in Medicine and Science (2009). She has served as President of the Indiana Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and on the Executive Board of Directors of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy as the Chair of the Council of Division Presidents. In addition, Dr. Dankoski has served on multiple committees of the Association of American Medical Colleges Group on Faculty Affairs and was most recently named the Associate Editor of the Faculty Affairs Collection in MedEdPortal: The Teaching and Learning Journal. She completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Michigan and earned her PhD in marriage and family therapy with a graduate minor in women’s studies from Purdue University.
