Associate Dean for Student Affairs


Dr. Emily Walvoord is a graduate of Miami University (Ohio) and Northwestern University Medical School. She was an intern, resident and chief resident at Children’s Memorial Hospital/ Northwestern University and completed her pediatric endocrinology fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine/ Riley Hospital for Children and stayed on as faculty. Dr. Walvoord's research and clinical interests have focused on hypopituitarism, growth hormone deficiency, and early puberty. She has been the local PI for a number of pharmaceutical sponsored studies, was the International PI for a Phase I trial of inhaled growth hormone, and has collaborated with colleagues on translational studies of genetic causes for hypopituitarism and short stature. Dr. Walvoord coedited the textbook "When Puberty Is Precocious: Scientific and Clinical Aspects" and is studying the cognitive effects of growth hormone replacement in children. As the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Walvoord focuses oversees the enhanced statewide delivery and continuous improvement in the areas of academic advising and career mentoring, wellness, and development of a new student success program, among other services, at all nine campuses.
