Bio

Tory is a native of Great Britain, whose family emigrated to the United States, and a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University (BA) and the University of Cincinnati (MD). Dr. Palmer-Smith completed her residency at Henry Ford Hospital where she was a chief resident. She is a diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

She joined our faculty in 2002 having started her career at Emory University Department of Emergency Medicine where she served as an Assistant Emergency Medicine Residency Director. Tory has completed the EMF/ACEP Teaching Fellowship Program. Her professional interests are in delivery of health care to vulnerable populations such as the homeless and prisoner patients and end of life care. She serves on the IUSM Women's Advisory Council and is a founding core faculty member of the IUEM Advocacy Program. She serves as the medical director for the nurse practitioner program at the Eskenazi Emergency Department.

 Her husband, Erik Streib, is a surgeon and critical care specialist at Eskenazi. They have two children.
