Loren K. Rood, MD

Faculty at IUSM, Dept of Emergency Medicine since 2000. Attended University of Louisville Medical School, followed by residency in Emergency Medicine at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Has actively practiced emergency medicine for over twenty-five years. Areas of active teaching with the IU Emergency Medicine residency include ophthalmology, EKG interpretation, and point of care ultrasound. Member of ARDMS and AIUM, and is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Current position with IUSM is Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine, Assistant Head of Ultrasound Division. Hobbies include marine reef aquariums and aquaculture, as well as guitar.
