Bio

Bruce H. Matt, MD, MSc, FAAP, FACS, is Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery. He joined Indiana University School of Medicine faculty in 1989 as the first fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologist in the state of Indiana. Dr. Matt’s interest in pediatric otolaryngology began in medical school at the University of Pittsburgh while at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh’s ENT clinic, under world-renowned leaders in pediatric otolaryngology: Drs. Charles Bluestone and Sylvan Stool. After his residency at the University of Iowa, where he also earned a master’s degree in otolaryngology, Dr. Matt completed his pediatric otolaryngology—head and neck surgery fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital under the direction of Dr. Robin Cotton, an internationally acknowledged leader in airway reconstruction.

Dr. Matt has received an Indiana University Trustees teaching award and was recognized by IU School of Medicine Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery residents for Excellence in Teaching. He is a member of the prestigious Triological Society; fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery; fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics; fellow of the American College of Surgeons; member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology; and member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Matt has been named numerous times a Top Doctor by Indianapolis Monthly magazine and is listed as of one of America’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly.
