Dr. Torres received his M.D. degree at Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico. He completed a residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Catholic Medical Center, a major affiliate teaching Hospital for Cornell University, New York, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at University of Illinois at Chicago and a postdoctoral fellowship in Medical Genetics at Indiana University. He is board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology and board certified in Medical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics.
Dr. Torres-Martinez's research interests include clinical dysmorphology, teratology and given his background in OB/GYN has a special interest in prenatal and reproductive genetics. In addition to his clinical functions, Dr. Torres is involved in teaching activities with the Genetic Counseling and Medical Genetics Residency programs.
