National AIDS Control Program (NACP)
Location: Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania
The Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children in Tanzania formed the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) to coordinate all health activities related to planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating HIV/AIDS related projects in the country in 1987. The NACP coordinates more than 3,010 (including Option B+) care and treatment facilities throughout the country. All patients receive a unique patient identification number (CTC Unique ID Number). Three care and treatment facilities are part of the EA IeDEA consortium. These sites are National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR)-Kisesa in Mwanza region, Tumbi Special Hospital in Coast region and Morogoro Regional Hospital in Morogoro region.
