MD applicants must have completed ninety (90) credit hours from an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution of higher education as well as the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). Applicants should shadow a minimum of three physicians and participate in meaningful medical and service-learning activities before applying to Indiana University School of Medicine.
• One year of General and Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Biology—minimum two-hour lab
• One semester of Biochemistry
• One Social Science AND one Behavioral Science course
Requirements may be in progress at time of application. The MD Admissions Committee reserves the right to determine which courses fulfill program requirements.
Early Decision Program
The Early Decision Program is exclusive to applicants who wish to make a commitment to matriculate at Indiana University School of Medicine. The AMCAS application for the Early Decision Program is due by August 1. Applicants not accepted during the Early Decision Program process are placed in the regular applicant pool and may apply to other medical schools after October 1.
To be considered for early decision, applicants must apply between June 1 and August 1 and have a minimum cumulative and science GPA of 3.6 and a minimum MCAT score of 509 with no individual score below 125. Beginning with the 2020/21 application cycle, applicants must have a minimum of 3.8 GPA (science and cumulative) 512 MCAT with no subsection below 127.

Scholarly Concentrations Priority Placement Program
The Scholarly Concentrations Program offers medical school applicants priority placement into their preferred Scholarly Concentrations topic at a regional campus. Applicants to this program receive early notification of their admissions decision by early December, 2019. To qualify for the program, students must have a 3.5 GPA, 507 MCAT and apply to the school via AMCAS no later than the end of July 2019. Indianapolis campus topics are not eligible.
