The Medical Sciences Program in Bloomington is unique among the IU School of Medicine campuses in that it educates medical students seeking an MD as well as graduate and undergraduate students. Bloomington offers a Big 10 learning environment on an iconic campus.

Located in a highly populated urban region just 25 miles from downtown Chicago, the Gary campus offers medical students unparalleled access to clinical care at 11 major teaching hospitals housing 2800 beds. An expanded residency program in Gary will accommodate more than 100 new graduate medical education positions.

IU School of Medicine-South Bend is located on the campus of Notre Dame, offering a rich campus life in a traditionally collegiate community. Students here gain clinical care experience at the Navari Student Outreach Clinic, and external funding for faculty research exceeds $2 million per year.

Known for its rural medical education program, IU School of Medicine-Terre Haute meets the increased need for physicians to serve rural communities throughout the state of Indiana and beyond. This unique four-year medical school program emphasizes primary care and other specialties of need in rural communities.

Located on the campus of Purdue University, the West Lafayette campus offers a Big Ten campus atmosphere and opportunities to supplement the MD curriculum with research experience in the collaborative labs and research centers here. Partnerships with universities and hospitals in the South Bend area allow IU School of Medicine students at this campus to benefit from early clinical exposure and diagnostic skills practice. Physicians, residents and hospital personnel are easily accessible to medical students and provide informal clinical training and advice on career planning.

Partnerships with local physicians, clinics and hospitals provide students at IU School of Medicine-South Bend the opportunity to learn patient care through one-on-one, hands-on experiences. Students find that the spectrum of needs allows them to become familiar with both the well patient and the critically ill. Guided clinical education is augmented by opportunities in the Navari Student Outreach Clinic, which provides free health care for low-income and uninsured local residents.

Elkhart Clinic

Provides patient services in Elkhart, Goshen, Mishawaka and Plymouth with 20 distinct specialties and services.

Elkhart General Hospital

An affiliate of Beacon Health System, Elkhart General Hospital provides care for adults and children with general needs as well as cancer, heart or vascular disease, bone and joint issues and stroke.

Goshen Hospital

Provides comprehensive community health care, including specialty care through the Center for Cancer Care

La Porte Hospital

Owned by Community Health Systems, La Porte Hospital provides acute care with strong programs in cardiology, orthopedics, surgical services, emergency care, oncology, and maternal health

Celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2016. This clinic serves about 300,000 patients each year at five different facilities.

Recruits candidates for across the country for a three-year residency program as well as special curriculum in rural, sports medicine and care for the underserved.
