Charles R. Powell, MD
Associate Professor of Urology
Dr. Powell completed medical school at Indiana University after finishing a degree in electrical engineering at Purdue University. He completed his urology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and chose to undergo additional specialty fellowship training in female and reconstructive urology with Dr. Karl Kreder at the University of Iowa.
His areas of interest include fistula repair, urinary incontinence, sacral neuromodulation (Interstim), urethral stricture disease, reconstructive urology, and pelvic prolapse.
He has recently authored peer-reviewed manuscripts in the areas of sacral neuromodulation, interstitial cystitis, as well as urethral stricture disease. He has authored 3 book chapters and is currently involved in research topics ranging from bladder microtransmitters to chronic pain conditions.
