Monica M. Forbes-Amrhein, PhD, MS, MD

Bio

Dr. Forbes-Amrhein is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology and Imaging Sciences in the pediatric division and fetal imaging center. She received her medical doctorate and doctorate in Bioengineering at University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN and fellowship in pediatric radiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH. Her research interests are in pediatric and fetal applications of ultrasound imaging, musculoskeletal imaging and fetal imaging. She also has an interest in contrast agent media for ultrasound, MRI, and CT, specifically their bioeffects and safety profiles. She is currently utilizing advanced ultrasound imaging techniques to identify tissue characteristics that result in improved diagnosis of hydrocephalus in preterm infants. Her projects in the field of musculoskeletal imaging involve trauma imaging. Finally, as a member of the Maternal Fetal Imaging Center there she is involved in a multitude of fetal imaging projects.
