Education Programs

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology faculty uses innovative methods to effectively communicate the current state of knowledge in pharmacology and toxicology to medical, graduate and post-graduate students at IU School of Medicine. The department also provides opportunities for students to excel in the lab and develop as life-long learners. Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology faculty teach foundation courses in the Physician’s Assistant Program and the Anesthesiologist’s Assistants program. Graduate students in the department can pursue a PhD or Master's in Translational Toxicology, or train toward the MD/PhD dual degree offered through the Medical Scientist Training Program.

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology is involved in teaching pharmacology in eight of the thirteen Phase 1 courses in the IU School of Medicine MD curriculum.
