Ophthalmology is a part of the required surgical rotation for medical students at IU School of Medicine. Students may select ophthalmology as a surgical subspecialty rotation in the third year of medical school.
The ophthalmology residency at IU School of Medicine is a 36-month ACGME-accredited program that provides increasing responsibility to residents and excellent educational experience and training in all areas of ophthalmology.
IU School of Medicine offers two one-year ophthalmology fellowship programs—one in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus, the other in glaucoma—to individuals who have completed residency training.
