The Department of Ophthalmology at IU School of Medicine provides training to medical students, residents, postgraduates and community physicians. The accomplished faculty and state-of-the-art facilities at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Eye Institute in Indianapolis provide trainees with exceptional opportunities for patient care, medical research and academic pursuits in the medical specialty area of ophthalmology.

MD Education

MD Education

Ophthalmology is a part of the required surgical rotation for medical students at IU School of Medicine. Students may select ophthalmology as a surgical subspecialty rotation in the third year of medical school.
Residencies

Residencies

The Ophthalmology Residency at IU School of Medicine is a 36-month ACGME-accredited program that provides increasing responsibility to residents and excellent educational experience and training in all areas of ophthalmology.
Fellowships

Fellowships

IU School of Medicine offers two one-year ophthalmology fellowship programs—one in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus; the other in glaucoma—to individuals who have completed residency training.
