Obstetrics and Gynecology is a complex and dynamic specialty that is constantly evolving in response to patient needs, treatment modalities, and socio-political influences. The teaching physicians at Indiana University School of Medicine are fiercely loyal to improving women’s health care and training the next generation of Ob/Gyn physicians.

In the Department of Ob/Gyn at IU School of Medicine, education comes first. The teaching physicians in this department are dedicated to providing an excellent educational experience that provides a solid foundation for graduates, allowing them to pursue whatever career path they choose: private practice, academic generalist or subspecialty training.

A physician specializing in Ob/Gyn is often a woman’s primary care provider. With this in mind, students training in this area of medicine are encouraged to learn obstetrics and gynecology as well as all aspects of women’s health.
