Dr. Ingraham was instrumental in the development of the graduate training program and worked diligently toward awarding the first PhD to a graduate student in 1957. Dr. Ingraham guided students to think carefully about scientific problems, formulate a hypothesis and analyze data with precision. Through the generosity of his family, an endowment was established for the lecture events.
